M5-G1 Gateway – Intelligent Sensor Data Routing

The M5-G1 Gateway receives sensor data from various interfaces and reliably forwards it to ENAiKOON servers.

Versatile Deployment Options

The M5-G1 is a multifunctional gateway that can be permanently installed – for example, in site offices, industrial halls, or shipyards – or used in vehicles or construction machinery. It continuously scans the surroundings and captures data from BLE and LoRa beacons, as well as Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

These data packets are compressed and securely transferred to the ENAiKOON server. The gateway’s GNSS coordinates can also be transmitted and linked to the collected sensor data.

In general, all mobile networks provide reliable coverage for vehicles, since these are constantly moving and will eventually be in an area with strong reception. The situation is different for applications where devices remain stationary and may be permanently located in an area with poor network coverage. In such cases, it is highly advantageous if the SIM card allows access to all available mobile networks, regardless of the SIM provider (so-called national roaming). Unlike SIM cards from a single domestic provider, ENAiKOON SIM cards support national roaming – and are often even more cost-effective than cards without roaming.

ENAiKOON supplies devices with both internal and external antennas. Some devices even allow flexible configuration: when an external (active) antenna is connected, the internal antenna is automatically disabled. To cover all use cases, ENAiKOON provides a full range of antennas for mobile networks, GPS, LoRa/LoRaWAN, WLAN and BLE. With more than 20 years of experience, we are well equipped to assist you in selecting the right antenna for your specific application.

LoRa Beacons

LoRa beacons transmit a globally unique ID via the LoRa wireless standard at regular intervals.

When a LoRa beacon is attached to an object, installed at a defined location, or carried by a person or animal, that object, place, person or animal can be uniquely identified.

LoRa beacons offer a range of up to 1,000 metres.

Due to their higher transmission power, LoRa beacons cannot broadcast as frequently as BLE beacons and require larger batteries.

The cost of LoRa beacons is approximately 50% higher than that of iBeacons.

BLE Beacons

BLE beacons transmit a globally unique ID via the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) standard at regular intervals.

BLE beacons are also available as Apple AirTags.

When a BLE beacon is attached to an object, installed at a defined location, or carried by a person or animal, that object, place, person or animal can be uniquely identified.

BLE beacons offer a range of up to 100 metres.

Due to their lower transmission power, BLE beacons can broadcast more frequently than LoRa beacons and operate with smaller batteries.

The cost of BLE beacons is approximately 50% lower than that of LoRa beacons.

iButton

iButtons are read using an iButton reader.

They do not contain a battery; instead, they are activated by direct contact with the reader.

iButtons are typically used for user identification.

Typical applications include:

  • Access control for rooms

  • Access control for vehicles, construction machinery, cash registers, etc.

  • Recording of working hours

Buzzer

Buzzers are small electronic components capable of producing a very loud warning sound (typically around 80 dB).

Almost all ENAiKOON devices can be connected to a buzzer.

The M2-M1, M5-G1 and M5B1 models even feature a built-in buzzer.

Buzzers are used, among other things, to warn or remind employees.

Example:
If a truck driver sets off in the morning without first starting the time recording, a buzzer installed in the vehicle will remind him to do so.
